About Gem City Cirque

Gem City Cirque is thrilled to be part of the Dayton community. This company offers imaginative entertainment that will elevate your next event (and we mean that literally!). Gem City Cirque is a group of professionals who can soar through the air, dance the night away, and light up your party. Our performers are professionals who maintain high level performance and safety standards which allows you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.

Gem City Cirque was founded in 2020 during the pandemic. Two friends decided to start putting on backyard shows for their friends and neighbors and the company was born. Our goal is to bring the circus to everyone. Our acts are perfect for corporate events, festivals, street fairs, and any other family friendly event. We bring unique acts, visual entertainment, and a one of a kind cirque experience that will leave your audience wowed. We offer a variety of acts, themes, and are always happy to work with you on customizing your experience.

Angela Thomas

Angela Thomas has always loved the stage. She’s been involved with the theatre community since middle school. She loves the thrill of performing and connecting with her audience. After college where she earned a BA in History, she searched for new ways to stay healthy and be creative. She eventually found aerial arts. She trained in the Nashville circus community for 4 years before moving to Dayton. She became an aerial circus performer specializing in aerial silks, hammock, hoop, and chains. After falling in love with aerial arts, she also fell in love with flow arts and fire spinning. She now can spin fans, palm torches, levitation wand, and dragonstaff all while on fire!

After moving to Dayton, she found herself wanting to introduce the community to everything circus arts. She then founded Gem City Cirque with Kaitlin and is excited to connect with her new home and share the joy of circus arts.

Kaitlin Kenny

Kaitlin Kenny has been performing most of her life.  As a child she was a competitive Irish Dancer for 12 years right here in southwest Ohio, and was a trained vocalist for five years.  In high school she was involved with the theater club in addition to Irish Dance and track.  Fitness has always been important to her.  Kaitlin joined the Air Force after college and is still on active duty.  She has been an endurance athlete since 2011.   In developing core strength to complement endurance events, Kaitlin discovered her love for aerial arts while she was still stationed in Florida.  She has been an aerialist for six years, four of them spent on a performance troupe in North Carolina prior to her move to Dayton.  Kaitlin specializes in trapeze and loops, and also has performance experience on lyra and silk.  On the ground, Kaitlin stands tall as a stilt walker, and has recently discovered fire spinning.
